Companies and Their Business Affiliates Face Business Process Challenges When Migrating to a Paperless Business Model.
As more companies are adopting the “Go Green” philosophy, cutting down on the amount of printed paper and paper exchange between business units is under the microscope. However, as businesses look for paperless options they must adopt a new set of business processes that apply to electronic document exchange.
In addition to the business process challenges of electronic document exchange, companies also often face regulatory issues that come with handing documents as electronic files and not physical documents. The exchange of documents between two organizations, done electronically, requires that both organizations comply with the same rules and industry standards.
By migrating to a paperless business model companies are able to address different needs and solve numerous business challenges such as: automating document processing, reducing costs (printing, postage, shipping fees, and storage), and eliminating excess waste. Customer and Vendor benefits can also be achieved by moving to a paperless business model such as: meeting legal deadlines, quicker more efficient notification of special pricing, and reducing invoicing time, thus speeding up accounts receivable processes.
In conclusion, businesses are seeking alternative ways to cut costs and improve business communications between themselves and their business affiliates. By eliminating the printing of important documents and moving to a paperless model companies are reaping the benefits of cost reduction and automation, as well as seeing improvements in business communication. Companies are looking for solutions that can address these business challenges and provide a complete output management solution. Compleo Suite meets these criteria allowing companies to move forward towards a paperless business model.

Tips and Tricks |
Creating an Excel Formula in a Blank Column using Compleo Explorer.
When exporting data to Excel, you can add columns to your export that include Excel formulas. In order to do this you must create an additional column in your IDF. You can also complete this task by selecting an empty data field. Once selected add this column to the special parameter, “Replacing Content” and insert the formula.
Example: A report shows the inventory with the quantity and price of each piece. You can use this method to automatically obtain the total amount with a formula like "= D: D * E: E" (assuming that the column D is the quantity and the price column E).
Creating a measure in StarQuery for Excel.
Creating measures can assist users who are looking to combine data automatically as well as assisting in other tasks. Measures can be created in StarQuery MapDesigner very easily but can also be created in StarQuery for Excel. To do this, a user must first create a new column in StarQuery with the attribute in which you would like to apply the automatic calculation. Next, change the properties of this new column and apply the attribute on a “summary function”. Using this function creates a measure. Example: If you want to count the number of orders placed by customers. Use this phrase: Count((size).OrderNumber()).
